Lifetime takes Money Month messages on the road.
It’s never too late to get sorted!
With Sorted Money Month now in full swing, Lifetime Retirement Income is hitting the road with a team of experts to help kiwis protect their health, wealth and income in retirement.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer Kiwis access to the valuable experience and insights of well-known faces from the world of money management and retirement planning: Martin Hawes and Liz Koh. As well as top-notch advice on optimising physical and mental health from doctor, adventurer and entrepreneur Dr Tom Mulholland,” says Lifetime’s Founder and Managing Director Ralph Stewart.
Ralph says it’s more important than ever that people are equipped with the tools and resources to optimise their post-work years.
“Spiralling living costs are particularly hard on retirees, or those approaching retirement. That’s why we’re so keen to keep driving home the message about the importance of planning for your post-work years and how to make your savings work for you once you’ve retired. Everyone deserves to retire in comfort,” he says.
The all-star line-up of speakers will visit Christchurch, Tauranga, Auckland, North Shore, Kapiti and Wellington between 14 and 29 August as part of Lifetime’s 2023 Seminar Series.
Liz Koh unpicks the politics of retirement:
Liz will take a closer look at NZ Superannuation and the raft of benefits that retirees could be eligible for, while encouraging older Kiwis to “get political.”
“In recent years there’s been a noticeable drop in advocacy for seniors. Yet, there are a number of complex issues that the Government needs to resolve for older people. There’s no better time than an election year to raise awareness of these issues,” Liz says.
Dr Tom Mulholland prescribes a proactive approach to health:
Tom will share his wisdom from decades working at the coalface of both emergency and preventative medicine on how to ensure your health-span matches your lifespan.
As he says: “It doesn’t matter how well you manage your wealth, if you don’t have your health.”
Ralph Stewart talks turning savings into retirement income:
Ralph will run through the options for managing your savings to support a comfortable retirement.
“Retirees who’ve been able to put money aside over their working lives to supplement NZ Super are in a fortunate position. But, the trickier bit is working out how to turn savings into a stable income that lasts as long as you do,” Ralph says.
Martin Hawes offers lessons in leaving a lasting legacy:
Martin caps things off by demystifying the complex world of wills and trusts so you can be confident that your legacy will reflect what really matters to you.
“Of course, a meaningful and enduring legacy involves the thoughtful distribution of assets. But it’s also about leaving a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of those closest to you through the passing on of intangibles like values, memories and traditions,” Martin says.

Extra lessons
On top of the seminars, Ralph Stewart and Lifetime’s Chief Marketing Officer Chelsea Devlin will join forces to deliver a free workshop: Unlocking Financial Freedom - Empowering your Retirement Income.
“The workshops will allow us to take a deeper dive into some of the key drivers of a comfortable, prosperous life post-work, including health, relationships, and retirement income planning. Think of the workshops as your gateway to a fulfilling retirement,” Chelsea says.
